Laurent founded AlternativeSoft after four years at UBS Wealth Management where he was head of tactical asset allocation. At UBS, he spear-headed and implemented the investment strategies for $110bn of private client assets, including $30bn in Mutual Funds and also was involved in the construction of the first $6bbn UBS Wealth Management Fund of Hedge Funds. He holds a bachelor's degree in economics and an MBA in finance, both from the University of Lausanne and was a professor of economics and mathematics for 2 years in Lausanne, Switzerland. His interests include skiing, sports and happy clients.
Ravi develops and validates mathematical models, whilst providing quantitative support to clients. Ravi wrote a thesis on "Portfolio Management in the Presence of Stochastic Volatility". He holds a BSc in Mathematics and an MSc in Financial Mathematics from King's College, University of London. His interests include technology, gaming, food and bhangra.
Akshay joined AlternativeSoft in 2011.
He provides quantitative support and training to clients and leads all aspects of client relationships, retention and development.
Akshay holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Devi Ahilya University, India and a MSc in Banking and Finance from Queen Mary, University of London.
His interests include Squash, Badminton and Travelling.
Prior to Joining AlternativeSoft, Dominique was Director of Equity and Trading Services for IHS MARKIT, Instinet, and spent 7 years at Factset. Dominique is fluent in French and holds a bachelor’s degree in English literature, politics and civilisation from the university of Pau in France. His interests include skiing and Rugby and Derivatives trading.
Mitesh is responsible for the user experience and design of all AlternativeSoft products. He studied Multimedia Technology and Design at Brunel University and graduated in 2009. Mitesh has worked with high profile clients for the past 12 years. His hobbies include playing football, gaming, gadgets and travelling. He lives by the famous quote by Albert Einstien "Creativity is contagious, pass it on".
Manpreet has spent most of his career working with the various UK leading investment banks, companies, and big four accounting firms. He holds a dual Master's Degree, MSc in Computer Science and MCA. Manpreet is obsessed with the idea of using software to solve practical problems. He is very passionate about software development, personal drive for success, and will always do everything in his power to ensure a pleasant experience for all stakeholders. Outside of work, Manpreet loves spending time with his wife and two young children. He loves reading books and has a keen interest in science fiction.
Dipesh is responsible for developing and maintaining client relationships. Prior to AlternativeSoft Dipesh worked as a Financial Consultant within the regulatory and risk space specialising in Dodd-Frank and MiFID, and as a Hedge Fund Investment Analyst at IAM. In 2014 he moved to a family office as an Analyst within their Fixed Income and Equity team, specialising in relative value investing. Dipesh holds the IMC, and a MSc in Finance from Cass Business School along with a BSc (1st class Honours) in Financial Economics. Dipesh is currently studying for CFA level 3. His interests include football, rock climbing, travelling and has recently started playing the piano.
Michael develops and validates quantitative financial models for based on client feedback and requests. He wrote his thesis using empirical methods in financial research to provide inflation hedging with a weighted basked of currencies. He holds a BEng in Mechanical Engineering and an MSc(Econ) in Finance & Investment Management from the University of Aberdeen. Michael joined the team in June from Winton Capital's research centre in Oxford.
Monika is a Junior Analyst working closely with our quantitative and development teams. She is responsible for proofing and validating the quantitative financial models, ensuring that the software operates as intended. Monika holds BSc in Banking and Finance from the University of Essex and MSc in Investment and Finance from Queen Mary, University of London. Her hobbies include reading books, dancing jazz, salsa, zumba and playing chess.
James is responsible for Business Development and has proven to be a dynamic member of the team since joining in 2018. He previously gained extensive sales experience during his time at BMI research and Fitch Solutions, and has a BSc in Biomedical Science. His interests include Science and Technology, and he is also a licenced skipper.
Evangelos is responsible for supporting clients and maintaining relationships. Prior to joining AlternativeSoft, Evangelos worked for GAM Investments within their Finance Team and as an ETF Data Analyst for ETFGI. Evangelos holds a MSc in Finance from Cass Business School. His interests include travelling and cycling.
Federica has recently joined the Client Services Team within which she aims to provide great support to the new and existing client base and contribute to developing and improving client relationships. Prior AlternativeSoft she had experience, as Analyst, in both Structuring Finance and Commercial Finance at General Electric. She holds an M.S.c. in Banking and Finance, an M.S.c. in Wealth Management and a B.S.c. in Economics and Management.
Vincenzo is a Junior Quantitative Analyst that works on testing existing features as well as exploring and validating new opportunities to enhance the user experience of AlternativeSoft's desktop and web application. He holds a BSc in Economics with Banking from the University of Greenwich and a MSc in Finance and Economics from the University of St. Andrews. His hobbies include cooking, football and economics.
Edriisa studied Industrial Economics at the University of Nottingham. His previous experience was working for The Bank of England as a Data Analyst, Fisher Investments Europe as Junior Account Executive and the National Lottery (although he never had any luck with winning tickets). His hobbies include watching football, creating/producing music, travelling and playing basketball.
George recently graduated from the University of Leeds with a degree in Economics and Politics. His degree involved a year in industry in which he was part of the business development team of the leading provider of identity and access management. George is a keen traveller and passionate about all sports, particularly rugby.
